Time and Place
Sunday mornings 11 am – 12 pm
11 Church St. Chestertown, NY 12817
Parking is available behind the church, on the lawn next to the church, and in the parking lot across the street from the church.
Enter through the front doors.
God Winks
God winks. Have you felt the presence of God in your life this week, or at a time long ago? We take time during the service for people to share a God wink we have experienced in our lives. Sharing is voluntary.
Covid Protocol
Masks are no longer required as Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. We do not pass the plate for offering. Plates are located near the doors so you may leave a voluntary offering as you enter or leave the sanctuary.
Songs & Praise
Do you like to sing? If you do, this is the church for you. The congregation sings every verse of four hymns. We use
The United Methodist Hymnal
Songs & Worship
The Faith We Sing.
Also, we sing The Gloria Patri as a means to glorify God before we hear the word from the Bible. We sing The Doxology to bless our tithes and offerings.
Usually, songs are accompanied by live organ music. On occasion we sing praise music accompanied by Youtube.
Our organist, Bob Flachbarth, plays a prelude as people gather to worship, and a postlude as people leave. Bob grew up in this church and has been playing the organ for church services since the 1960s.
The Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
And to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be:
World without end. Amen. Amen.
The Doxology
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer
The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic** church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
